Мuseum-estate of the national hero of Belarus, Poland, and the United States, Tadeusz Kosciuszko.

Museum-estate of the Tadeusz Kosciuszko

Near the agro-town Kossovo in the Merechevshchyna tract, there is a small homeland and a museum-estate of the national hero of Belarus, Poland, and the United States, an honorary citizen of France Tadeusz Kosciuszko.

Once the estate was preserved thanks to the efforts of the Puslovsky counts, who in 1857 restored it and founded the museum of the famous countryman.

During the Great Patriotic War, the house burned down, and only in our time was it rebuilt with the money of the American government (as evidenced by the commemorative plaque inside the building) on the foundation of the old building.

Today in this museum you can see the interiors of the era when Kosciuszko lived, household items, clothes and weapons - sabers, dummies of pistols, cannonballs, and bullets, a copy of the sermyagi (It is the cloth for making simple clothes) in which the hero fought.

Tadeusz Kosciuszko, born in Belarus in 1746, is a national hero of Belarus, America, and Poland.

He was the leader of the national liberation uprising of 1794 in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, took part in the American War of Independence.
