Nesvizh was named the cultural capital of Belarus in 2012. He became the third Belarusian city after Polotsk and Gomel, awarded this honorary title.

Belarus became part of UNESCO in 1954 and for many years has been maintaining fruitful, dynamic relations with this international organization. 

With the help of UNESCO, many interesting projects are being implemented in our country in the field of education, science, information, communications and, of course, culture.

In October 1988, Belarus acceded to the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, adopted by UNESCO in 1972. And today 4 objects located in our country are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The legendary Belovezhskaya Pushcha is one of the oldest reserves in the world, the largest of the remaining parts of the huge relict forest of Europe, which many centuries ago extended from the Baltic Sea to the Bug and from the Oder to the Dnieper.

The unique natural area that unites Belarus and Poland is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition, Belovezhskaya Pushcha is the largest of the four national parks in Belarus (the area is almost 153 thousand hectares).
