Catholic Christmas in Belarus.

Catholic church of St. Simeon and St. Helena,
often also called the Red Church
- the most famous Catholic church in Minsk.

Christmas (Catholic Christmas) in Belarus is a public holiday, as is Orthodox Christmas.

And this is not surprising - because according to the Catholic Church in Belarus, about 15% of the country's faithful population belongs to it.

On December 25, Christmas services are held in all Catholic churches.

By Christmas, housewives must decorate the house and prepare holiday dishes, first fasting, because fasting lasts until Christmas night.

On the holiday itself, after the church, people continue the celebration at home and set the table on which, by tradition, there should be kutya and a lot of meat dishes for conversation.

On the tablecloth or under it put a little hay, as a symbol of the fact that Jesus was born in a manger, on the table there should be a candle symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem.

Best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
